Reducing sugar and salt with PepsiCo

Published: 03/02/2021

In 2018, PepsiCo continued to reformulate its products.

In the UK, PepsiCo changed the recipe of the Quaker products and removed all added sugars. Only naturally occurring sugars from oats and milk powder remain in Quaker products.

In Germany, PepsiCo continued to reduce added sugars in its key beverage brands. The Lipton Ice Tea portfolio – in total six different flavours – was reformulated and it now contains between 30% and 44% less sugar.

In the Benelux region, we implemented a salt reduction of at least 31% on the entire Lay’s Sensations range. In Spain and Italy too, we reduced sodium in Lay’s Ready Salted by 20%.
