The present Industry Guidelines on the Regulation (EC) No 1334/2008 on flavourings and certain food ingredients with flavouring properties for use in and on foods are intended to provide a common understanding of the major issues to be taken into account by food business operators, flavourings producers and other stakeholders. The Guidelines are divided into different Chapters and Annexes. They include the original text as provided in the Regulation, interpretations and industry’s common understanding as well as some illustrative examples to highlight specific cases. Several statements and positions follow consultation with the Commission Services and, where applicable and available, their interpretation is included.
