(Brussels, 7 June 2019) Today is the first World Food Safety Day, following its adoption by the United Nations General Assembly in 2018. To mark the day CELCAA, Copa-Cogeca, EuroCommerce, FEFAC and FoodDrinkEurope are reiterating their commitment to delivering safe food to consumers all around the globe.
(Brussels, 16 April 2019) In a letter  sent today to Anne Bucher, Director General of the European Commission's Health and Food Safety Directorate (SANTE), FoodDrinkEurope has joined other members of the EU Platform for Action on Diet, Physical Activity and Health in calling for a (further) review of the objectives and functioning of the Platform.
(Brussels, 05 April 2019) FoodDrinkEurope, the European food and drink industry organisation, has welcomed the publication of contingency measures for its sector in the case of a no-deal Brexit. These initiatives, and the further clarifications provided in yesterday’s press conference with Commissioner Katainen, are important to the food and drink industry, Europe’s largest manufacturing sector in terms of turnover, and to the 4.57 million people it employs, as the threat of a “no-deal” Brexit looms.
(Brussels, 28 March 2019) In a joint letter sent today to the Secretariat General of the European Commission, Copa and Cogeca, CELCAA and FoodDrinkEurope, on behalf of the entire EU agri-food chain, welcome the set of measures already taken as contingency plans for a no-deal Brexit by the European Commission. Representatives of the EU agri-food chain believe that some additional actions are still needed to mitigate the potential devastating impact that a no-deal Brexit could have on the European agri-food industry.
